dassie

For the first drivers

Founding Scouts

A map is only as honest as the last driver who checked. The first people to check in across South Africa get their name on it for good. No points, no leaderboards, no gimmicks.

How it works

1

Tap once when you arrive

Navigate to a charger in Dassie and, when you get there, the app asks: Worked or Didn’t. Two buttons, no sign-in needed. That tap updates the pin for everyone within seconds.

2

See who you helped

Every driver who looked at that charger while your check-in was the latest word counts as a driver you helped. The number is on your Impact screen, with the chargers you were first to confirm.

3

10 chargers makes you a Founding Scout

Check in at 10 different chargers before 1 February 2027 and the Scout badge sits next to your name in the app, and your name goes on this page. The badge is only available before launch, and it never expires.

Why there are no points

Paying per report invites made-up reports, and a made-up report is worse than none. Dassie counts one verdict per charger per hour, only from the phone that was there, and shows you the drivers you actually helped. That’s the reward, and it’s a real one.

The roll

Founding Scouts, in the order they earned it.

No names yet. The first one could be yours.

Check in at 10 chargers before 1 February 2027. The roll updates within the hour.
