Dassie is a free app and website that shows every public EV charger in South Africa, from every network, on one map. Drivers see whether a charger was working minutes ago, what it costs, and whether it keeps running in load-shedding, then plan long trips with charging stops picked across networks. Status comes from drivers and from networks that share it, and Dassie always says how fresh it is. It launched in 2026 and is independent of any charging network.

The animal is a dassie (rock hyrax): small, sure-footed, always sunning on a rock. The bolt says what it’s for.
